10am – 1pm on Saturday 17th August  at the Porlock Repair Cafe, Porlock Village Hall

The FiXY project is a mobile van that travels around Somerset promoting the reuse, repair and recycling of electric goods. The project is supported by Somerset Council and funded by Material Focus.

Many of us have an old drawer of electrical items we don’t use any more. The Fixy van holds Tech Amnesties where people can donate their unwanted electronics to be properly recycled. Items in good condition are refurbished and securely data wiped by our partners at Donate IT, then redistributed to people in the community in need. Recently, items collected through Fixy have gone to charities supporting mental health and learning disabilities.

Laptops are currently in high demand, so if you could encourage people to bring unused laptops to the event, that would be a great support.

More info on the project and what can be donated can be found here. Or you can follow us on Facebook here.
